Story
So I'm sure you guys know that I'm quite fond of cycling, most of all road cycling. As the name suggests this involves a lot time sharing the road with cars. When i do this i not only feel vulnerable but i am. I am always aware that any pot hole or poorly timed swerve could be fatal. Every year over 40 people are killed and over 10,000 people are seriously injured riding their bikes on roads.
Because of this September 17th I am undertaking the Wiggle Amy Grand Fondo event. I will be riding 120km on the Great Ocean Road to raise money for the Amy Gillett Foundation so they may create a safer environment for all bicycle riders and help improve traffic flow for all road users.
I don't want to become another statistic. Any contribution you can make will help the Amy Gillett Foundation achieve its vision for zero bicycle fatalities.
Thanks everyone

Amy Gillett Foundation
The Amy Gillett Foundation (AGF) began its work in 2006 in the name of Amy Gillett, who was tragically killed as a result of being hit by a motorist whilst cycling with the Australian Women’s Road cycling team in Germany in 2005.
The Amy Gillett Foundation's vision is for safe bicycling throughout Australia in order to achieve the ultimate target of zero bicycling fatalities.
The Foundation promotes a safe and harmonious relationship of shared respect between bicyclists and motorists – to highlight the importance of being responsible every time we head out on the road whether we're on two wheels or on four. Why? Because everyone deserves to arrive at their destination safely irrespective of their chosen mode of transport.
